Field Status ProcedureUpdatedTuesday January 30, 2018 byPatty Ragas.
The LSC fields 'open' and 'closed' decision is made by the executive board, and the decision takes into account first and foremost the safety of the players, as well as the potential for lasting damage to the fields. While our fields are nice, they are not professionally architectured for drainage. There is the potential for the fields to be closed on very nice days after several days of rain.
The decision is usually made by 8:00am on weekends, and by 4:30pm on weekdays. Lightning, sudden dangerous weather conditions, or other extenuating circumstances may cause the fields to close after that point or for delayed status updates. PLEASE BE UNDERSTANDING. The web site will be updated as soon as possible. When out on the fields, the red light at the top of the information station will be lit, a horn will be blown at the fields, and the red flag will go up.
Safety is ALWAYS our first concern! Please be mindful and understanding of that.
